La Jolla in December

In December we took a day trip down to La Jolla, north of San Diego. At the Torrey Pines Glider Port we were lucky enough to watch a falconer exercising his bird (a peregrine falcon, I believe). As the wind picked up a little around noon, the paragliders came to launch from the cliff and sail out over the ocean. We later drove to Kellogg Park in La Jolla Shores where I photographed a couple of gulls, sunning themselves on the old dead tree in the park. The "bleak midwinter" in southern California!
